The Rock n´Roll

The Rock n 'roll is a type of music that emerged in the United States of America. The most common instruments in Rock n 'roll are one or two electric guitars, a bass guitar and drums. In the 1950s, the United States teenagers were looking for new sounds, new feelings. For the first time, music was headed straight for them: Rock n' roll.

In times of slavery in the United States, black communities developed a musical potential which was dominated by religious songs and rhythms that marked the days of work in the various plantations that lived back then. Musically influenced by African rhythms and sounds, they were present in creating a unique and different style that after materialized in the blues, which became the musical ingredient that later revolutionized the music world. Moreover, also the influence of white musicians through musical genre called country and the emergence of electric guitar would give rise to what is called rhythm and blues, rock n' roll father. One of its predecessors was Muddy Waters in 1949.

The term rock n' roll began to be used to lessen musically popular rhythm, rhythm and blues, which had shown too many racial struggles of the time, and although in essence the two genres represented the same, somebody wanted to differentiate one from the other to give step to white singers and music that doesn't mention the racial conflict.

Rock and roll emerged as a defined musical genre in the US in the early 1950's. Rock and roll combines elements of blues, boogie woogie, and jazz with influences from Appalachian folk music, gospel, country and specialized western. Muddy Waters has often been credited as the musician who "paved" the road to Rock n' roll.

Some date back to the origins of rock and roll in 1954 with the album by Bill Haley and his group Bill Haley and the Haley's Comets, especially with Crazy man crazy (1954) and its successful Rock around the clock (1955), which would influence much of John Lennon. Others see as creator Little Richard and Elvis Presley, chosen as the guys who started rock'n'roll in 1954, the year in which Presley released his first album. Notable musicians of the time you can quote Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent and others.

Development and evolution

From the 60's, Rock and roll had an important development, and its evolution is expressed through a lot of bands and a variety of rhythms and styles that made Rock n' roll into a cultural and musical phenomenon that spread around the world. The style is a rhythmic combination that is founded essentially on black music. The popularization of Rock n' roll allowed many musicians could express themselves and get to spread in local and national media. That's the story of many black rockers like Chuck Berry himself, who embodies the social reality of their environment in the song "Johnny B. Goode".
It is only since the 1960s, when Rock n' roll decays and ceases to be the rate that represented the young rebel in the 50's, giving way to the genre called rock or rock music, which would mark a milestone among the rising generation young in the 1960's.

But from Rock n' roll, has been born different sub genres such as rockabilly, doo wop and hard rock, and phenomena such as the Teen Idols or Girl Groups, the latter mainly sponsored by Phil Spector. Some genres have been derived such as heavy metal, garage rock, punk rock, progressive rock and glam, and among them there are still common elements from the Rock n' roll. So to Glam Lennon defined as "Rock n 'roll with lipstick", and some artists of hard rock and heavy metal as Motorhead or AC / DC musicians like to be defined as rock n' roll.
